Good Friday: The Blood in Action

“But God demonstrates his own LOVE for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Brother Kirk Franklin reminds us that:

The BLOOD falls on us.

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8

The BLOOD gives us purpose.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who LOVE him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

The BLOOD says that God stands for us.

“If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” Romans 8:31b-32

The BLOOD cancels condemnation.

“There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2

The BLOOD takes away all guilt.

“God made him who has no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21

The BLOOD gives us hope.

“And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile. You are still in your sins. Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead.” 1 Corinthians 15:17-20a

The BLOOD gives life.

Jesus: “The thief [Satan] comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

The BLOOD makes all things new.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation: the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5:17

The BLOOD is love.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the LOVE of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

Kirk Franklin, But the Blood

The Gospel is good news that Christ has died, Christ has risen, AND Christ will come again. Thank you, God, for the blood. Amen.
