The past few weeks have been crazy busy but today it is all about mentoring. We officially launch the Women’s Mentoring Ministry at our church with an intimate dinner on this evening. The leaders have spent many months in prayer and preparation for this night. We have 90 women confirmed to attend. All are excited!
I’ll be sharing my heart for mentoring and the importance of this ministry.
A few highlights concerning mentoring:
- Older women (both in age and spiritual maturity) have a responsibility to teach and train younger women (Titus 2:1-5, example Elijah and Elisha’s relationship)
- Peer-to-peer mentoring is equally important as multi-generational mentoring (Look at David and Jonathan’s relationship)
- It is not good for humans to walk through life alone (Gen 2:18, Jesus always sent his disciples out two-by-two)
- Mentoring goes both ways (Look at Naomi and Ruth’s relationship)
More to follow next week…
I have been exchanging heart messages with several women over the past few weeks and feel burdened by their pain. Will you please be in prayer for all the women that are hurting, need a friend, feel that God has abandoned them. Pray that God will use this ministry to speak into their lives and strengthen their relationships with him.
Will you please share a few words of encouragement for women in need?
