If you have been following this blog for any short amount of time, you know I am an avid reader and I encourage others to read as well. Leaders should read. Writers should read. Anyone else who aspires to greatness should read. Reading often challenges me, and that’s a good thing. Reading is worth the struggle.
The primary book for reading is the Bible. For those making New Year’s resolutions to read more of the Bible, it can be a challenge getting started. Maybe you don’t know which translation to kick up. I hope this post can assist you with that challenge. If reading through the New Testament, this post can also help you get started.
Others may read books and find it difficult to remember or understand what they have read. Check out this blog post on “How to Retain What You Read.”
Maybe you are having difficulty determining what is best to read. I have attempted to assist in this effort by recommending books and encouraging online book discussions through Natasha’s Study. Primarily, I select books that impact the church and culture. So far we have addressed gender issues, idol worship, faith and society, money, and giving ourselves a break. I have shared the links of our book summary discussions below. If you pick up one of these books, feel free to join the discussion at any time. I would love to dialog with you.
