Can God Set a Table in the Wilderness?

I am so thankful that fellow Redbud, Margaret Philbrick, is sharing her wilderness experience today. This is such a pleasant remind that God does set a table for us in the wilderness, he does hear when we cry to him for help, and he will answer in his perfect time:

“Can God set a table in the wilderness?”  Psalm 78:19

10 years, that’s how long my wilderness experience has been.  Not really that long when compared to 40 years of Israelites wandering in the wilderness.  But when you’re in your 40’s and ten years is one quarter of your lifetime, it seems like a long time to be wandering in the wilderness, looking for a home.

It’s Our Anniversary…Celebrate With Us!

Dear Friends,

I cannot believe I have been blogging for two years today! We have had wonderful times together and trust me when I tell you, “There are more exciting things ahead.”

It is my desire to use this blog to share Jesus, honor his holy Word, encourage the children of God, and challenge disciples to grow in him.

Currently, I am so encouraged to see how God is using my wilderness experience and the experiences of others to bring healing to broken hearts and difficult situations. We will continue the series throughout the summer and we have another amazing series coming in the fall. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, I wanted to take this opportunity to make a couple announcements:

I have desired to share these speaking topics with you for a long time but I simply did not have the opportunity. God has now created the space for me to begin sharing these messages of love, hope, healing, and reconciliation. I am so excited about the possibility of connecting with you across the country. Please share with your friends, ministry partners, women’s ministry leaders, and church staff.

More details can be found here.

The new Facebook page gives us the unique opportunity to engage topics that are important to us. We simply cannot cover every important topic on the blog. We are hoping that the Facebook page provides an opportunity to extend our community with lively conversions concerning culture, our communities, and the church. Occasionally, I may share a cute photo or two.

Connect via Facebook here.

Although it’s our anniversary, we want to give something away. Comment here to celebrate our journey together and/or “like” our Facebook page and we will randomly select a winner to receive a special gift at the end of the week.

May it be said of us that: We brought God glory on earth by completing the work he gave us to do. (John 17:4)

Much Love in Christ Jesus,

A Wilderness Experience: To Share or Not to Share

To truth story and testimony from my friend, Lesa Engelthaler:

God was silent. I could not feel his presence. It was sparked by one “no” from God, followed by another, and another. Then a stretch of divine silence that lasted for over three years. Some would describe it as a Dark Night of the Soul. It was a wilderness time. It was excruciating and I had no idea how to talk about it or even if I should.

On occasion, I worked up the courage to offer an honest reply to the “How you doing?” question. “Actually not so good,” I would say. “God seems really silent lately.”
