Last weekend I was honored to attend the first Synergy Women’s Leadership Summit in Dallas, TX. The weekend was full of reconnecting with old friends, meeting new ones, and hanging with writing buddies (yeah, Gifted for Leadership and Redbud Writer’s Guild).
I’ve been connected to Synergy for several years (currently serving on the Board of Advisers) and remain passionate about the organization because of its core values of being kingdom minded, spiritually grounded, leader focused, community driven, authentically generous, and culturally progressive. The evangelical community needs Synergy and I trust that God has great things ahead! Women leaders need Synergy to continue as a safe place of education, encouragement, renewal, challenge, and hope.

Julie Pierce, Leadership Consultant and Founder of Empowered by Pierce, who spoke on the topic: Your Leadership Voice & Personal Purpose Statement. Connect: @julie_pierce
Dr. Halee Scott, professor, researcher, and author, who shared
research from her upcoming book, Dare Mighty Things, and spoke about Our Greater Purpose as Leaders. Connect: @hgscott
Margaret Yu, Personal and Leadership Coach and National Director of Leadership Development and Human Resources for the National EPIC Movement (ministry of Asian American students) of CRU (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) gave insight on How Shared Leadership Accomplishes the Purposes of God. Gail Dudley, is the interim CEO/President of Synergy and she is also a
co-pastor, international speaker, and published author. She wrapped the summit sessions with the topic: Our Leadership Strength Because of Our Diversity. Connect: @GailDudley
In between the teaching sessions, there was time for prayer, personal reflection, table talk, sharing of hearts, celebration, and the discussion of practical tools we could take back to our ministry context. My personal note from 9/19/2013, “God, thank you for such a beautiful gift that is Synergy!”
