Leading Female Voices of Missio Alliance

I am thrilled to be a part of the Missio Alliance community! Particularly, I’m getting the opportunity to hear and learn from a diverse and thoughtful group of Christian leaders who care deeply about the Bible, Jesus, and his messy church. Today, I am honored to share the female leading voices of Missio Alliance, Carolyn Custis James and Dr. MaryKate Morse.

Carolyn is a friend, mentor, and inspiration to me. Her recent work, Malestrom: Manhood Swept into the Currents of a Changing World, confronts the problems of patriarchy in the Bible, throughout history, and in today’s church. She has written one of my most life-changing books, When Life and Beliefs Collide: How Knowing God’s Makes a Difference. I have shared some of her other work with you previously. The Gospel of Ruth book discussion might be of interest.

You can find out more about Carolyn’s upbringing, books, and passion in her Missio Alliance introduction.

I first had the opportunity to hear Dr. Morse speak at the Missio Alliance Conference/Gathering this spring. She and I have similar interests in leadership, mentoring, spiritual formation, reading and writing. I am looking forward to reading her book, Making Room for Leadership: Power, Space, and Influence, at the top of the New Year.

I am pleased to introduce MaryKate to all of you. Check out what she has to say about the church, humility, community, and quiet spaces.
