We need to revisit how we understand and what we understand about the image of God. We have to really go back to the foundations of our shared humanity. If we start with our shared humanity, where God loves all people so much that He would send His son. There must be something about this crown of creation God calls humanity. And if God so feels that way, than how ought we to treat one another? And that is what has gotten lost in American Christianity.
