He earned degrees from Morehouse College, Duke University Divinity School, and a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from North Carolina A&T State University. Dr. Rivers is the author of a commentary of sermons on the gospel of John entitled John published by Helwys in 2019. Dr. Rivers currently serves as a Trustee at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, North Carolina.
