This is the challenge of what it really means to be a disciple is living and walking in the way of Jesus and not that you just have all the theological points right, I think it is important to have theological points right, let me be clear, but I think sometimes we lose sight of the humans, the image bearers of God when we are trying to do the work that God has called us to.

Natasha Sistrunk Robinson

In this episode, I share my personal experiences and stories about my life growing up in South Carolina and how that shaped and impacted me as I grew older and eventually entered the military. Throughout my conversation, I share insight into what it is like to be a black woman living in our society and culture through the lens of the various seasons in my life, and highlighting some of the differences between my experiences growing up and my experiences today. Rasool and I also unpack the important issues within the education system, the church, and where to find strength when you are faced with the hardships of life. Through my personal story, I had the opportunity to illustrate how faith in God is what I held onto through every season of my life, in spite of the hardships, challenges and overwhelming odds I faced. Jesus Christ is the strength that I have always held onto so that I will never give up and never quit.

“Disciple making is not just about programming. It’s not just about Bible study. It’s not just about going to church. It’s not just about activity. I look at disciple making in the way that Jesus models for us with the twelve men we call apostles and the women that accompanied them on the journey of investing large amounts of time with small groups of people, because I believe that’s where we’re going to have the greatest impact.”
