Episode features a conversation with Nancy Beach, we talk about the #MeToo and #ChurchToo movements, the fears of women in leadership, what pastors need to know, and our hope for the future.

Nancy Beach is most known for her groundbreaking ministry to more fully unleash the arts in the local church, and for leading artists with grace, wisdom, and skill.  For over 20 years she served as the Programming Director of Willow Creek Community Church in suburban Chicago, building a community of artists who sought to create transformational moments in weekend church services. Nancy also served as a Teaching Pastor, periodically bringing the weekend message.  She invested five years as a leadership team member of the Willow Creek Association, an organization that exists to envision and inspire church leaders all over the world. In over 26 countries and on 6 continents, Nancy has shared her passion, teaching at conferences and workshops. Nancy and her husband Warren live in the village of Barrington, Illinois with their adorable dog, Beanie. Their two daughters, Samantha and Johanna, are both artists. God Has His Eyes on Women, So We Should Keep Our Eyes on Him

As I round out this month’s God Cares About His Women Series on Good Friday, it is only fitting that we rest at the feet of the cross. Women met Christ at the cross. Matthew’s account of the gospel records that “many women were there, watching from a distance. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to care for his needs (Matt. 27:55).”

From the beginning of time and what we refer to as the Christian faith, God had his eyes on women and women had their eyes on him. It has been my honor to share the stories of women of Christian faith throughout the Church’s history, and those who are sharing in their legacy today. I lock arms with them to stand against the schemes of the evil one and proclaim the good news that Jesus saves!

Gifted to Lead photoThis month we have focused our Natasha’s Study book discussion on Nancy Beach’s “Gifted to Lead: The Art of Leading as a Woman in the Church.” Last week, we discussed God’s Leading Women in the Good Old Boys Club. This week, we are talking about the Methods and Myths of women leading in church.
