Hello Beautiful People,
I am pleased to bring you this episode, as it marks the transition to a new segment on A Sojourner’s Truth Podcast, and that is #GriefAND Lament. Over the next several episodes this theme of Lament will be surrounding my conversations with the guests on the podcast.
In this episode, I start out by discussing the importance of listening to the voices and the stories of the people who are a minority or who are marginalized. It is important that we create space to not only hear, but to listen to what they have to say. As part of the conversation surrounding lament and listening to minority voices, I share some insights about the Voices of Lament project that I recently released this year.
I am of the posture and the belief that we are all leading, we are just leading in different ways.

On the topic of leadership, I touch on the fact that there is this tension between great joy and at times deep lament. We are human leaders who are leading human people. We are by no means perfect but we should seek to reflect Christ in our leadership. Within a Biblical context, I share my thoughts and insights into Moses as an example of someone who grew to be a great leader through his reliance on prayer and his humility. Moses was a good leader, but he did have many failures which means he is not far beyond us, he is human just like we are. There is grace for us as we seek to reflect Jesus Christ in our leadership.
