With the fall season among us, the leaves have all turned colors and the chill is kissing our cheeks in the mornings. I’m already looking forward to the time of peace and tranquility that the Thanksgiving season will bring and the celebration, time of rejoicing, and new beginnings of the Christmas Season and New Year.
Even now, I rest in the truth found in God’s Word. I pray that you read these words carefully and meditate on them throughout this month and the coming Christmas season. In this Word, we have hope.
But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities;
The punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
And by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
And the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.
He was oppressed and afflicted,
Yet he did not open his mouth;
He was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
And as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
So he did not open his mouth.
Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
And though the Lord makes his life a guilt offering,
He will see his offspring and prolong his days,
And the will of the Lord will prosper in his hand.
Isaiah 53: 5-7, 10 NIV
For Christ’s obedience and offering to God, the Father, on my behalf, I am thankful.
What are you thankful for these days?
